On pump 4 this week we have Portabello Bewery – APA, again a little about the brewery, the brewery is fairly new, only being established in 2012, they have a few brews to their name! And are based in west London.

Now about the ale; American Pale Ale is inspired by the incredible craft beer scene in America – diverse, creative and more established than what’s currently going on in our backyard. Rather than doing some sort of Yankee pastiche – all Independence Day, Die Hard & Cheeseburgers, this beer celebrates a quieter type of independence. It’s about the freedom to do things differently from the big breweries, to focus on quality and taste rather than volume; independence from the idea that just because beer’s main ingredient is water it should taste like it too.

Portobello American Pale Ale uses six different hops to create a fruity, clean & refreshing beer with citrusy notes of orange and pink grapefruit. Absolutely packed full of flavor… freedom for your taste buds! At 5% this brew is a little higher than our normal selection… But you’ve got to give things a go right?
