While the exact origins remain shrouded in a bit of mystery, whispers in the archives suggest the building's journey began around 1845-1850. Was it a quiet dwelling then, or perhaps a bustling hive of activity? We can't say for sure. But by 1860, the Tickner family, known for their skill with wheels and barrels, had transformed it into a welcoming pub – The Jolly Coopers. The name, a nod to their craft, resonated with locals, and soon laughter and clinking glasses became the new rhythm of the place.
Time wove its magic on the pub, leaving behind tales of expansion and renovation.
